About Us
Our friendly and caring team at Brisbane West Dental Group is an amalgamation of two long established dental practices in the western suburbs of Brisbane. Dr Beresford purchased the practice from Dr Joe O’Connell in 1996. In 2006 Prof Ian Meyers relocated his long standing Sherwood practice to join Brisbane West Dental Group.
We would like to acknowledge retired Dr Joe O’Connell who practiced in the Taringa / Indooroopilly suburbs and Dr Arthur Meyers who practiced in Sherwood both establishing their practices in the 1950’s.

Our Dental Hygienist Christine Collins is a registered dental health professional, primarily concerned with the prevention and control of oral diseases. Our dental hygienist is a valuable member of our dental team, working with our dentists to provide fully integrated dental care.
Our hygienist assists in the prevention of dental caries and gum disease by thoroughly removing deposits and stains from tooth surfaces. Our hygienist will provide you with individualized preventive treatment and home care regimes to prevent dental disease and tooth wear. With regular maintenance your hygienist can assist you to maintain good oral health for the rest of your life
